Moorpark is located in Ventura County, California. It began as a small agricultural community and stayed that way with a population under 6000 people for many years. In the 1980's, construction boomed and many people moved here while continuing to work elsewhere. The population rose to 26000 by the 1990 census. The school system had to grow rapidly to accomodate the families moving in. We now have 3 lower elementary schools, 2 upper elementary, 2 middle schools, 1 high school, and a community school.
