We were invited to share a condo with the McGreevys for Memorial Day weekend.
Inside the condo. It was two floors and had a fireplace.
Roger and Lisa examine rocks at the edge of the lake.
Jenny dangles her feet in the water from the edge of the dock.
Emily, Sarah, Sarah, and Jenny get their feet wet.
Sarah totes Roger around on one of our hikes.
Roger goes under his own steam with help from Amanda.
The girls are fascinated by this exhibition of gold
panning at the visitor center.
During summer months, the Alpine Slide operates with
wheeled sleds on two concrete runs.
First, you take the ski lift to the top of the hill,
with your sleds hooked on the side. Here, Jenny
and Sarah McGreevy head up.
And here they are at the top, waiting their turns.
Kerrie is in the foreground and Sarah and Jenny are behind her.
Here comes Glen to the finish.
The same park also featured a couple of long
water slides.
Glen, Jenny, Roger and Anne explored the back roads.
I liked this tree and Jenny sets it off well.
Roger likes stretching his legs.
This is the site of a former thriving mining community.
At one time, it was populated enough to be considered
for the San Bernadino County Seat.
This is the entrance to one of the more productive
gold mines.
Coming back down the mountain, we got this view of the
upper reaches of the Lake. It looks white because
this part of the lake dries up, leaving the mineral
deposits.
A truly decorative log. I keep pointing these out to my
family as examples of what I want in the backyard.
Vivid Snowplant.
