Lisa enjoys participating in this volunteer project. She notes, though, that her friend Erica is the one
who set this up and organized the volunteers. Despite their best efforts, Lisa and Erin were unable to
convince the reporter
to give Erica any credit. Erica and others had participated many other nights; she just didn't happen
to be there the evening the reporter came.
Lisa won a position to compete on the state level. The convention was in Irvine this year and she ended up
eighth in the state in her category.
Lisa had a good time with this project, too. For whatever reason, she attracts reporters. She claims they
just make up the quotes, though. She has no recollection of saying those exact words. This is a good
lesson on the reliability of the news.
