Sequoia 2001
Here's our home for the week, Cabin 15.
This is how we fit 7 people and all our gear in the van.

This area near the point and the time capsule is one of
my favorite spots to just sit and read or meditate.
The card players spent hours contemplating Hearts. These hardy souls include Lisa Cooper, Roger Cooper (kibitzer with pacifier), Sarah Cooper, Justine Allen, Jason Manners, Jenny Cooper, John Allen, and Scott Allen.
Janice and Karl Leier are hard at work at the craft shop.
Lisa spent hours perfecting her praying mantis.
Roger splashed some great colors on his pumpkin napkin ring. Sarah is the grave counselor next to him.
At the craft shop, Gary Potter cleans the greenware before it's fired to bisque.

Alan and Roger enjoy bathtime in the shower.
Alan liked the nursery. He tried to crawl into this play kitchen.
Alan also liked the climbing apparatus and slide.

A busy waterfront. Jenny is pushing the white raft.
Someone managed to flip the sailboat, giving the lifeguards a
good chance to practice righting it.
Gary and Nancy Meinke 'adopted' Jenny for an evening of fishing.
Roger is getting ready for his boat ride with Daddy.
Glen took Roger out in a rowboat.

Roger and Alan Cooper show Adam Powell the 'dice' game.
Roger is using the dice to learn counting. Lisa
is studying Japanese while keeping them company.
All seven Coopers at one table! I think this may have been
the only time it happened the entire week.
Roger and Jessie invented some game with the booster seats, and
then tolerated Alan playing, too.
A variety of people helped work my 1000-piece puzzle.
I actually completed it after we got home.
There are two baby koots here. They're usually pretty shy
and the parents hustle them out of sight. Glen and I took
a kayak out to sneak up on them.
I think this is Cow Parsnip.
Apparently the foxglove is not a native plant at Sequoia, but escaped from someone's garden. At any rate, they're beautiful.

This tree is one of the few that wasn't cut down in the Big Stump area.
