Alan is anxious for Glen to put the batteries in his
new Flip 'N Go racer, a gift from Shelton and Dottie.
Sarah gleefully made a macaroni and popsicle stick
picture frame for Glen. There was much giggling in
her room since she convinced several of her friends to
do the same thing for their dads. What a nostalgia
trip for them, and Glen was really amused.
Wesley was pleased with his gifts from home.
We made our traditional homemade pizza for Christmas
dinner. By this time, Mother and Dad had joined us;
their flight arrived at LAX in the afternoon of
Christmas Day.
Here are some of the custom pieces. Sarah always
prefers hers without cheese.
We did stockings on the 26th, so we could hang all 10
of them together. Jenny enjoys distributing them.
Lisa wanted sand toys to take back to school with her.
Mother and Dad have to do a dance to earn their annual
coffee! I don't know if this is a cha-cha or not.
A lot of new playdoh arrived for Christmas, so Lisa and
the boys had to try it out.
Grandmommy got a chance to try playdoh hamburgers
and other delicacies with the boys.
Granddaddy does some cartooning with Roger.
Sarah got a doctor's kit for Roger. Her reward was to
get a shot from Roger.
The aftermath of gift opening.
Alan finally was too tired to keep his eyes open.
Usually, he doesn't want to miss anything.
Jenny shows Sarah McGreevy (and Roger) her new Sims game.
Aunt Wendy and Uncle Steve sent Roger a dinosaur puzzle.
With a bit of help from Granddaddy, he put it all together.
Aunt Wendy and Uncle Steve gave Alan a set of musical dolphins
that play different notes when bobbing in the bathtub.
What they may not have realized is that the holders make
great toe rings!
And of course the boys had to try them out. As I recall,
Jenny was the motivating force here, but she didn't feel
the need to get in the tub.
Jenny is studying her book and supplies for making cling art
for the windows. The results now decorate our back door.
Alan is intrigued with Grandaddy's harmonica music.
Another 12-day present was a non-battery-operated helicopter.
We took it over to Peach Hill Park to try it out.
Jenny could really make it go!
And then Jenny made it go into the treetop! Glen got a
long pole and climbed the tree to knock it down.
If you look closely here, the helicopter is falling down
just about over Mother's head. Glen is still in the tree.
Then we meandered over to the sand and play equipment.
Jenny took Alan for a good slide. He likes slides, with or
without company.
Roger hangs up-side-down.
Lisa tries it, too.
There's a small troll hiding behind Grandmommy and Granddaddy!
