Kaiser Pass Hike

Kaiser Pass is 9184' at the road. Beth, John, Stephen, Megan, Roger, Carol, Tom, Sam, Kelsey, Alan and I decided to return to the heights on Saturday morning. The rest of our group headed for the dam to do some more fishing.

We climbed a bit higher on a dirt road ...

... and then hiked even higher. (RAC)

Equipped with the right vehicle, we could have driven up here instead of hiking.

The panoramic view of the Sierras was breathtaking.

Here are the hikers: Stephen, Megan, Beth, John, Alan, Anne, Sam, Carol, Tom, Kelsey, Roger (CLC)

Alan was happy to climb on the rocks. I don't think he cared one way or another about the view.

Samantha appreciated the scenery.

Snow was visible in patches.

A close-up of the snow nearest to us.

This big rock looked vaguely like a sphinx. (CLC)

A relay station was tucked in on top of the ridge.

Edison Lake was on the east side of the ridge.

And Huntingdon Lake was on the west side.

Carol thought this would be a good spot for a Christmas card picture of their family.

Beth agreed. John took 35mm photos, too, so they should have good quality pictures.

Alan pointed out these flowers for me.
