Halloween

San Diego with Uncle Roger

Danny McGreevy hung out with us for much of the week that Molly was in the hospital for back surgery. He went with Alan and me to pick up Roger after school and then we played at the park with our friends.

The boys play duck, duck, goose.

Moving day at UCSB. Lisa's stuff took 4 laundry carts to move. The dorms provides the carts and helpful volunteers to help students move in more efficiently.

Lisa's room, pre-organizing.

Sarah's room.

The Band marches down High Street for the Moorpark Country Days parade.

Although she's well-disguised, we have determined that Jenny is the one marked by the arrow. Band members strive for uniformity of appearance and they succeed!

Roger taught himself to ride a two-wheeler one day at the park. His friend Taylor had brought his bike and was kind enough to share it. So then we had to bump up the priority on getting Roger a new bike of the proper size. Jenny came with us to help Roger try out the new bike.

Alan inherited Roger's old bike and was pretty happy about that.

Jenny decided to make home-made ice cream one evening. She put the liquid mixture in small ziplock bags and then placed the bags in a large can along with ice and rock salt. Then they had to keep rolling the can until the ice cream froze.

Alan was impressed with Jenny's mountain of ice cream.

His was pretty good, too.

I just like this expression as Alan enjoys his ice cream.

We got our wettest October in 30-some years.

Peach Hill Park was pretty wet for several days.

Alan took this great shot!

Roger was "Student of the Month" in his class for October's core virtue of Citizenship. Mrs. Hill says he is very respectful of both people and rules. Each teacher nominates 2 students who embody that month's virtue and the awards are presented at the monthly Peach Hill Posse Assembly.

Roger and some of his friends at Peach Hill Park. Kalina, Brandon and Paige are in the tree and Kaleb (Kalina's brother), Roger, Ryan (Brandon's brother), and Alan are on the ground.

Alan made himself a pair of paper shoes.

Molly and I took our boys to the park next to their house.

Danny, Roger, and Alan make a train at the McGreevys' house.

Roger made a great turkey wall hanging at school, and then Alan was inspired to make one, too.

Thanksgiving. The non-Cooper is Ilya, Sarah's boyfriend. He made a hit with Roger by playing games with him and then teaming up with him for Apples-to-Apples after dinner.

Another view of the table.
