Alan used some blocks to create a mini-golf course.
While driving to Fillmore with Wendy and Steve, we
pulled off to take pictures of the hills. The rock
colors are visible because the fire last year burned
off a lot of the covering vegetation and the new stuff
hasn't totally grown in yet.
In this view, you can see the quarry operation west of
the road.
Alan gets a ride with Roger.
Several of us decided to drive down to Poindexter Park
after school. Jenny prompted this by mentioning that
she was burning out on Peach Hill Park. So I drove
Samantha, Paige, and Alan. Christy took Brandon, Ryan,
and Roger. Steve took Jenny to help him find the park.
And Lamees joined us later with Samantha's younger
brother, Jonathan.
Poindexter Park is the only local park I know of that
has a merry-go-round.
Roger tried pushing, too.
Alan liked the bouncy animals.
And all of the kids liked getting wet. Roger's and Alan's shoes
were still wet the next day.
Roger conquered this tree at Poindexter Park.
And then jumped down!
Alan has now learned how to get into this tree at
Peach Hill Park all by himself. He climbs on the
rail fence next to it and pulls himself up.
And Roger's talents now include sliding down the pole.
Roger, Paige, and Brandon make full use of the climbing
apparatus.
Jenny was asked to 'tune' the band before their first
concert piece at the Grand Band Finale.
And here she is in her first clarinet position.

Boysenberries are a cross between raspberries and blackberries and
loganberries. It's ripe when it turns purple and very
sweet, according to taste testers Anne and Alan.
Playing 'Tonka Construction' on the computer just wasn't enough
for Alan.
Alan likes the 'radioactive' ooze that comes with the
Megabloks Ninja Turtle construction sets.
We filled the pool on May 29th.
Roger was happy, even though the water had to be
pretty chilly.
It took Alan awhile to get in.
Jenny decided to get wet, too.
Jenny helped Alan realize that he could touch the
bottom of the pool on tip-toe. He is very excited.
We measured the water depth. It's 35".
Alan set himself up as the lifeguard. He's using
his 'binoculars' to check for problems.
Jenny came home with a trophy and a plaque from the
end-of-year band banquet. The trophy is for best
section (clarinets) of the symphonic band. The plaque
reads "Jenny Cooper, Giant Steps - Freshman,
Moorpark High School, 2004".
Look, Sarah! I managed to Frenchbraid Jenny's
hair for the banquet.
Roger, Alexis, and Brandon all wore Spiderman
T-shirts one day.

due to her being at UCSB.
