Roger's Birthday

Roger turned 6 on April 1st, so we celebrated a bit on the actual day and then had a party at Miller Park on Saturday. We invited his whole kindergarten class because the kids all seem to be having a wonderful year together and enjoying each other's company. More than half of them came: Skylar, Paige, Taylor, Brianna, Brandon Le, Brandon Shields, Samantha, Amber, and Chris. Sarah came home for the special occasion, too.

Happy 6th birthday, Roger!

He liked his presents.

We met the McGreevys at Del Taco on Roger's birthday. The boys like the play place, so that's a real treat.

We put out balloons and snacks for the party.

The goodie bags were sand buckets with digging tools, a bouncy ball, and some candy. We didn't need too much other entertainment.

Amber and Brianna.

Chris.

Samantha and Skylar.

We got a race car cake from Costco.

Roger had to pretend to blow out candles since the wind kept us from lighting them.

Roger was treated royally by his friends (or their parents!).

They were quite generous and enjoyed watching him open everything.

While Roger and some of his friends raced their bouncy balls and climbed the bleachers, Jenny and Glen took a small break.

After the kid part of the party, we returned to the house to cook hamburgers for the McGreevys and Sweitzers. Now we could light the candles and make the birthday official.

Keith and Kurt picked out this lightning lamp for Roger and he was intrigued by it.

So was Alan.
