Magic Mountain

Glen took off Friday, April 16th, so we could go to Magic Mountain on a weekday. It was a good choice; the weather was just about perfect and the park wasn't crowded. Although I don't have pictures for all of them, Jenny was thrilled to ride on most of the big rides without even having to wait in line. The longest wait was for Goliath at a bit over an hour. They waited around 15 minutes for Colossus, and not at all for everything else.

Here's everybody at the official photo opp point, except for the photographer and Alan, who was stuck to me like glue.

Roger tried the carousel with Daddy.

Roger's first roller coaster ride.

Vanessa wasn't too sure about the tourbus ride that took us up in the air.

She liked the cars, though.

So did Alan. We rode these a lot...

...both in daylight and after dark.

Aunt Wendy and Jenny swirl a teacup.

Lunchtime.

While Glen and Jenny took off to try the big rides, the rest of us enjoyed the parrot show.

The kids liked the bears.

This reminds me of the story of the blind men and the elephant. Each thought the part of the animal he was touching was totally representative of the whole.

Alan took Daddy for a ride.

This ball room was a lot of fun for Uncle Steve and Roger. Alan couldn't handle the noise level and had to leave.

Uncle Steve mans a cannon. Luckily, he didn't have any ammo to take out my camera!

We visited the goats in the petting area.

Brushes were available to groom the goats.

While Glen, Jenny, and Uncle Steve rode the big coasters, we had a nap and cotton candy break.

Roger was big enough for Scrambler and insisted on riding it 3 times. Can you see his hands holding on next to Glen?

Wendy, Jenny, Roger, and Glen all gave the big swings a try.

By the end of the day, we were pretty tired. Glen was especially happy to rest on this padded carousel seat.
