Upper yard.
The old cherry tree is now completely dead and decaying.
But we had a great time climbing that tree and using
the swing that hung from its branch.
Daddy made this fireplace with the rocks he dug out of the
yard in the course of early landscaping work.
Hemlock.
The 'new' hickory tree that I remember coming up as a
seedling from a nut the squirrels had buried.
A brand new hickory seedling. I carried it back with me
and am hoping it will grow here at home.
White pine seedling. I brought this one back, too.
Cross your fingers the trees will take!
Quince.
A rock from Sleepy Creek.
Dad is still trimming hedges and bushes.
He also insisted on pulling out a fence that could
cause problems for hedge trimmers.
What a fine house this has been for all of us who lived there.
