Jenny, Roger, and Sarah, Grandmommy and Granddaddy,
Aunt Mary and Uncle Johnny, and Paul Hlava.
Looking from the front of the Trading Post toward the
Visitor's Center and the picnic tables.
Aunt Marge, Grandmommy, Aunt Mary, and Mary Ann chat with Nancy Stone,
superintendent of the trading post site, while Alan builds a
mound of stones, carefully observed by Uncle Johnny.
In the background, Margie is meeting up with Billy John
while a reporter from the Albuquerque Journal records the
occasion. Standing next to Billy John is his daughter Sarah Cleveland.
Behind him is Lorenzo Hubbell and next to him is Roman Hubbell, both
of Albuquerque.
Rachel, a newly-met cousin, with the hand-beaded
keyring I had just acquired from her.
Alan had to ride/drive all of the logs marking the
boundaries of the parking lot by the restrooms.
The back of the Hubbell House attached to the trading post.
John (Don) Lorenzo Hubbell and others are buried on top
of this hill.
This oven in the backyard was used not only for household
needs, but also for baking several hundred loaves of bread
each week to sell in the store.
This globe mallow was growing by the back wall of the house.
Delphine was showing off pictures of her beautiful children, one of whom
was honeymooning in Hawaii, having just gotten married the past
weekend.
The Clan mills around after dinner, learning how we are related
and hearing anecdotes. The Trading Post staff organized a
lovely dinner for us and went way out of their way to facilitate
our meeting. They had intended for us to eat outdoors, but the
threat of rain moved us inside the warehouse.
Anyone know who this cute child is? Obviously, we can claim her
as a cousin, but I didn't get her name.
Roger found a buddy to practice juggling with while the
grownups indulged in boring talk. (Again, name?)
