Alan's Birthday

As is now traditional, Jenny put up the tree the day after Thanksgiving.

Lighting the pear tree.

A bunch of monkeys.

Samantha, Roger, and Brandon make a train down the slide.

Alan brought his tent to the park to 'camp'.

He ended up with a full tent: Alan, Roger, Brandon, Taylor, and Ryan.

Alan takes Junior down the slide.

Alan made this sign for Sarah to post on her door when she left for Florida on 12-17-04. The squares between the words are space bars, so Alan informed me later.

Roger's line of tinker toy cars.

Roger and Alan race their cars down the board and try to topple the tower.

Sarah in front of her apartment in Isla Vista.

View of Sarah's place from the edge of the cliff overlooking the ocean.

Turning around, the ocean view, with a hint of the island visible.

Sarah's fish. This one is so fierce she can't keep any others in the tank with him.

One of the labs where both Lisa and Sarah have jobs.

Lisa at her station in the lab.

Roger climbs the walls.

Roger learns to roller-blade.

Glen took Roger roller-blading.

And then Alan wanted to learn.

Roger helps adjust the blades for Alan.

Sarah tries out her new hair straightener on Jenny.

And the results.

Rare picture of Jenny. She doesn't like posing.

Spring must be coming; the crocuses are blooming.

The little incense cedars continue to thrive. I'll have to move them sometime this year.

And the giant sequoia is poised to gain another foot or two.

Alan made a lemonade stand for our friends after school. We made the lemonade just as he'd seen it on Max and Ruby months ago, complete with the secret ingredient, mint.

Alan made this centerpiece.

Alan, Roger and Brandon race at Peach Hill Park after school.

Jenny caught this silly face!

We played Bingo with the Sweitzers when they came over for homemade pizza on 2-12-04.

Alan played, too, with help from Deb.

Roger works on his SuperStar poster.

Roger was thrilled to play his own cards in a game of Apples-to-Apples at the McGreevys house. He did all his own reading!

He was quite successful, winning 6 green cards!

Happy 16th Birthday, Jenny!

Jenny invited several friends over for pizza, a sleep-over, and shopping the next day.

Somehow Sarah ended up with all the little boys at her end of the table.
