Alan observed the snow by the side of the freeway as we approached Gorman.
There was indeed quite a bit of snow on the ground
in Gorman and Frazier Park, but it was raining
lightly instead of snowing.
Unfortunately for our plans, officials weren't
letting any extra people past Frazier Park because
there were already a lot of people in the Mt. Pinos
area playing in the snow. So we got out the maps
and decided to go around via Maricopa and
come in the back way. Once we dropped
down the north side of Gorman on I-5, the snow
disappeared.
But after winding back into the mountains past
Mt. Abel, the snow was very much in evidence. Now
we just needed a good spot to park.
Around 5pm we found a good spot with a nice slope
right by the parking lot.
Jenny's turn.
Roger's turn.
Alan's turn.
And Jenny even made a tiny snowman.
