Alan checks in with Miss Fernandez for the 1st day of
Kindergarten.
Alan's new class lines up for the first time. Alan is barely
visible in the red pants, 4th from the front of the line.
Roger, as the special person of the week, got to bring home
Bandit over a weekend. 'Bandit' then writes an entry in
his journal about what he did with Roger.
We are slowing working on replacing rotten or buggy wood
and then painting all the wood trim and paneling. Glen
got a pressure paint sprayer to make the process go more smoothly.
Alan is anticipating Halloween and doing impromptu
drawings.
More of Alan's artwork.
Sarah had the opportunity to see a Chargers game in person.
Her roommate's mother got 4 tickets and shared one with
Sarah. So the girls drove to San Diego for the game.
Some of the action.
Sarah rides the dragon, somewhere in San Diego.
Homecoming game at MHS. Sarah came home for the weekend
and we took Roger and Alan to the game. Roger had wanted
to see a real game and he enjoyed having a chance. Alan
brought his ear protectors so he was able to enjoy some of
it, too.
The halftime show included both fireworks and a dance team
production of Aladdin. Sarah's camera does a great job
in fireworks mode!
The next day, Sarah got to see one of Roger's basketball
games and then we picked out pumpkins at Valley Farms.
Elephant Alan and pal.
Lisa really outdid herself finding things to send along
when she mailed Jenny's phone back to her.
Alan had to immediately spread out his new red penguin
shirt and read the captions.
And Roger's Charizard had to go along to watch both the
practice session Friday and the basketball game on
Saturday.
Alan picked berries from a bush overhanging our fence from the
neighbor's yard. Then he squashed them in water and we used the
resulting colored water to make this beautiful playdough.
November 18th Peach Hill Posse Assembly at which Mrs. Welch
(Principal) announces that month's awards. This month's
core virtue was Citizenship and Alan had been
selected to receive recognition. He is a good rule-follower
in class.
He looks a bit shell-shocked. We had to get him up early to
attend the assembly.
And here's the certificate!
The band gets ready to march in before the play-off game
against San Marcos on November 18th. Roger and I
decided to go with Sharon Walsh.
The band's theme for their field show was painting
your life.
Glen is working hard to get the primer on the upper story
woodwork.
Jenny can handle getting on the roof, too.
Making apple pies for Thanksgiving.
Thanksgiving at the McGreevys.
Roger was invited to Brandon's LazerStar birthday party.
While the older kids played lazer tag, Alan racked up
close to the high score on Ice Ball.
My red-flowered bush in front of the house.
And some lavender.
