We ate dinner at Chucks BBQ which was just down the road
from the KOA.
They were proud of their coverage in Sunset Magazine and the
food was indeed good.
After playing all day in Denver, we made it to the KOA
in Colorado Springs and stayed in a 2-bedroom Kamping Kabin.
There was a lovely river, right by our cabin.
We drove past Cheyenne Mountain, featured on Stargate.
We followed the Arkansas River for quite a while, driving
along Route 50.
At one point, we even got our feet wet in the river
and skipped a few stones.
As we climbed in elevation, snow patches became visible on
the mountains.
We went over the Continental Divide at Monarch Pass.
Looking west.
Looking east.
Pussypaws grow at this elevation.
There was a display inside the gift shop at Monarch Crest
and Lisa tried to explain the Divide to Roger.
A snowplow is frequently useful here.
Coming down, we spotted birch trees.
This water is flowing to the Pacific Ocean.
And so will this rain, eventually.
It was almost dusk, so we didn't stop here, but we had
to have a picture of the sign to show Deb and Keith.
