End of the School Year

Peach Hill held an artist/author Faire at which each child has something on display. Here's one of Alan's projects from art class.

Roger created this alien.

Room 18, Roger's classroom, is overflowing with things of interest on the walls, and even this tree with a raccoon in the tire swing!

Jenny received a special Director's Award at the Band Banquet. Mr. Hackett said nice words about her willingness to pitch in and be helpful and reliable.

Alan's class had a special play area set up with a tent, so one day I brought in more tents, pitched them just outside the classroom door, set up a pretend fire, and helped the kids 'cook' their smores. Seen here are Brooke, Miranda, Emily, and Alan by the tent door.

I also went along on the Kindergarten field trip to Tierra Rejada Farm.

Here I am with my 'buddies', Alan, Brian, and Samuel.

We rode out to the strawberry fields to pick some.

Alan filled both his and my boxes.

Miss Fernandez and Mrs. Barragan filled their boxes, too.

Moorpark High School graduation. Jenny is somewhere with the band on the field although I was too far away to be sure I'd spotted her. Kurt Sweitzer is in the queue waiting to hear his name so he can process across the platform, shake hands, and collect a diploma folder. The actual documents are picked up by the graduates after the ceremony in designated classrooms.

The peanut gallery: Lois and Bill Prosser (Deb's parents), Christy Prosser (Doug & Annette's daughter and thus Kurt's cousin), Ruth Sweitzer, David and Beth, Keith and Deb, Jason and Angela.

This year's graduates of interest: Kurt Sweitzer and Kellye Sweitzer.

Last day of school. Roger is flushed from playing kickball, but he posed with Mrs. Hartnett for me.

Alan with his teachers, Miss Fernandez and Mrs. Barragan. This winning team does both a morning and an afternoon Kindergarten class, with Mrs. Barragan taking the lead for the morning, and Miss Fernandez being the primary teacher for the afternoon class.

Alan designed these earrings special for his teachers and we ordered them from Aunt Wendy's tattingbywendy.com. Mrs. Barragan's set has glow-in-the-dark beads and Miss Fernandez's set had to be red (her favorite color) butterflies. They both put them on immediately after opening them.

The Bills (Alex in Alan's class and Ryan in Roger's class) hosted an after-school pool party.
