Road Trip 2006
We decided to do a scouting expedition to the Cleveland area to make sure we were
all comfortable with the idea of relocating there after Jenny graduates from
high school in 2007. I think we were successful -- Alan has told me that Ohio
is his favorite state! It has fishing, helicopters (maple tree seed pods), and
grandparents.
We also took advantage of the trip to see some beautiful scenery and wonderful
people who were more-or-less on the route. And we hit the
WILDFLOWERS right on. I took so
many pictures that they meritted their own page.
The east-bound route:
- Las Vegas (6-29)
- Zion NP, Cedar City (6-30)
- Bryce Canyon NP, Jim & Mary Ann Hubbell in Logan, Utah (7-1,2)
- Yellowstone NP (7-3,4)
- Drive across Wyoming (7-5)
- Jewel Cave and the Black Hills of South Dakota (7-5,6)
- Lisa in Des Moines, Iowa (7-7,8,9)
- On the Road to the Coopers' Cottage near Port Clinton, Ohio (7-10,11,12,13)
- Coopers' home in Brecksville, Ohio (7-14,15,16)
- back to the Cottage with lots of relatives and plenty of fishing (7-17,18,19,20)
- Cedar Point (7-19)
- back to Brecksville in time for a party with some McGreevys (7-21,22,23,24)
Sarah flew in to Cleveland on 7-14 and Glen flew home on 7-23.
Jenny and Anne did a side trip to Morgantown, West Virginia to
tour WVU on 7-24.
The west-bound route:
Jenny was our primary organizer for the trip. She took on the
job of keeping track of where things were and packing them in
the right spots.
Alan and Roger both spent quite a bit of road time playing
GameBoy games.
