The Coopers' backyard includes a forested section and a
seasonal creek. In June, this whole area was under water
from the extremely unusual and heavy rains.
Glen's standing at the base of a magnificent oak tree.
Note the righthand lower branch of the oak tree.
Now look for it.
Several of us were sitting chatting on the deck when this widowmaker
crashed down. Thankfully, no one was underneath it at the time.
Alan really wanted to cut down a tree, so after watching him
whack away at it for a while, Grandpa got out a saw and helped.
Here's the tree.
Meanwhile, Roger and Roger played frisbee.
Uncle Roger's family had a wedding to attend on Saturday,
but they came over beforehand so Sarah could do Sam's hair.
Ohm...
Alan was intrigued by the maple seed pods, aka helicopters.
John, Molly, and Danny met us at this spectacular
McDonalds in North Royalton for dinner Sunday night.
Mom had remembered that it had a playplace and given us
directions to get there.
As it turned out, the playplace extended above the rest of the
roofline, so from on top, the kids could see the rest of the
roof.
Grandma and Grandpa wave goodbye as we begin the
journey westward.
