Granddaddy takes a turn operating Alan's skill crane. Alan
engineered this whole thing to mimic the ones you see in
pizza parlors or arcades. He's providing the interior
motion in response to what Granddaddy does with the lever,
and eventually some candy will come down the chute.
Mother and Dad provide a big birthday bash to celebrate
a whole year's worth of birthdays.

Lisa found a beautiful coffee table book of images from
the Hubbell Space Telescope. She brought it with her
from Des Moines for her Grandparents.
Alan had a small meltdown, so Sarah took him upstairs
where they found the beeswax candle kit. Alan made several
candles and then we had to try them out.
