Paper Projects

Alan's armor. When I picked him up from school, he was wearing the helmet, breast plate, and cape. He made the shield, leg protectors, and sword at home for a complete look. His teacher, Mrs. Carlson, discovered that she could use paper privileges as a negotiating point at school. So I never knew quite what to expect when picking Alan up. Some projects not pictured below include an army helmet, a whack-a-mole game, a Star Wars battle cruiser, Star Wars snowalkers (ATAT), a campfire... He had lots of friends the week he decided to make light sabers and share them.

The sphinx was inspired by the core knowledge curriculum the week they studied ancient Egypt.

This was an at-home project, a rocket port, complete with rockets, a helicopter, a satelite dish, and a heliport.

Pirate ship with cannon and a moveable ship's wheel.

Pirate fort.

Pirate scene with sea serpent.

Roger's Indian Diarama. The 3rd-graders study different groups of California Indians and then make diaramas illustrating a particular group.

Alan saw Roger's classes diaramas on Open House night and noted the village hinted in the background of Roger's diarama. So he decided the next day at school to create that village.

On the next to last day of school, Allyson Rock (aide in Alan's class) brought in her family pet, Rocky.

Alan really liked Rocky so...

... he made Rocky a house (with pawprint carpet), 2 bones, and a cat to play with.

Roger liked Rocky, too.
