Mrs. Carlson's desk. Alan was allowed to hide under her desk
when events got too much for him. It was his 'fort'.

Alan edits one of his files at school. He composed his 'All About
Me' book on the computer, in addition to other things such as a
discussion of StarCraft.

The Peach Hill Peace Garden.

The Peace Hill Garden was created in memory of Christopher Hill,
the son of one of the teachers, who was killed in Iraq. Roger
had Mrs. Hill for his 1st-grade teacher.

Alan's class had a huge sunflower in their plot.

The last Peach Hill Posse Assembly of the year. The kids had
been challenged as a school to read 3 million minutes. If they
succeeded, the principal, Donna Welch, would spend the day on
the roof reading to them.

The banner proclaims the final total of reading minutes and
Mrs. Welch is ready to start reading. These minutes are tabulated
all year long by parents and are free-choice reading time, not
school time.

Knowing that Mrs. Welch was collecting old Peach Hill spirit shirts,
I finally decided to pass mine off to her. This design was from
when the girls attended Peach Hill, but I enjoyed wearing it
this year. A few of the teachers have been there long enough to
recognize it.

Last day of school: Roger with Mrs. Tice.
