Getting the McGreevy Christmas Tree

Glen and Alan helped in the selection and cutting process this year while Anne took Roger to his basketball game. Alan spotted THE tree and is quite proud of that. When Roger and I caught up to the group at the McGreevys house, we were just in time to go to Topper's Pizza for lunch before the guys got to work making an improved tree stand.
Glen, John, and Andy worked on attaching the existing tree stand to a piece of plywood and then tacking on a carpet pad to keep it from scraping the floor. The old stand wasn't quite sturdy enough to keep the tree reliably upright.

John pulled a nest from the tree before it came inside.

This year's tree was around 16 feet, so it was taller than the ceiling fan by about 3 feet or so.

The tree was tipped onto a furniture dolly and rolled over to the stairwell for decorating.

Once the top part was done, the tree could be rolled to the preferred location and slid off the dolly.

Alan helped John put more lights on the tree.

Meanwhile, I decided to test my new camera's zoom feature. This is the full picture taken from the fence by the McGreevys' garage. Note the arrows.

This is the patio with Christmas decorations of the house under the red arrow in the above picture. The 18x optical zoom with image stabilization works exceedingly well.

The other red arrow points to this climbing rock, here inhabited by Seth, Roger, Alan, and Danny.

While the guys were working on the tree, Seth had offered to take Roger, Alan, and Danny on a hike to the park, making them good targets for experimental photography.

They're hiking back toward Elephant Rock in the shade.

Alan hugs the decorated tree.
