Towpath Hike

Glen and I drove over to the National Park one day at lunchtime. This is what's left of Red Lock, part of the Ohio & Erie Canal system.

The Cuyahoga River.

Looking down into the water from the bridge, you can see right through to the rocks on the bottom. The water was pretty clear.

Then we hiked south along the towpath for a bit.

We peeked at the Brandywine ski slopes through the trees.

The highlight was this bald eagle, perched in a tree right next to the path.

Other wildlife included this fuzzy catepillar.

This area used to belong to the Jaite Paper Company. It was only fairly recently that most of the delapidated buildings were removed. This press was left intentionally as a historical artifact.

The poison ivy makes a brilliant splash of color.
