Alan forget what he was supposed to be watering!
They did a great job - definitely upped the curb appeal!
All the boys play 007 on the GameCube periodically.
Roger got to attend the Adventures in Math and Science
Saturday program, sponsored by CVUSD at Newbury Park HS.
Roger was very excited to be doing this and had a great time.
He chose 6 preferred seminars from the pamphlet and of the
4 time slots, 3 of them were from his list. The event is
organized like a professional conference. You register when
you get there and then attend several seminars from what's offered. In this case, they assign students to 4 seminars instead of having it be totally open. They also have lunch there.
The boys have enjoyed having their friend Walter Johnson
come over many Friday afternoons. This time they did paper
models. Walter made a dragon.
And Alan continued working on his paper house project.
On a different Friday, the guys decided to paint.
Alan wanted to paint because he had brought home this tank
project as a reward for filling the marble jar at school,
a behavior incentive program.
Alan likes to water the trees occasionally.
The boys were surprised to receive unsolicited books in the
mail, one box each, from the Literary Interest Society
of America.
Roger got Animorphs and Alan got Star Wars books.
Roger reads his letter to figure out why he's been
chosen to receive this largesse.
Alan cracks up when he figures out why L.I.S.A. is sending
him books from somewhere in Iowa.
And here's Roger's letter. Alan's is very similar.
Sarah has joined a kickball league with some of her
co-workers. She also invited a bunch of her friends
to sign up. This is their special T-shirt. They're
sponsored by a local bar, so after games they get
a free appetizer.
Sometimes the guys play StarCraft. We even got a replacement
disk when one got crunched in the CD drive.
Chris made a quick visit on his way from the airport back to
UCSB on March 30th. Sarah picked him up from Burbank and
then came back to the house for dinner before they drove back,
taking Jenny along after Spring Break. Chris had been
in Seattle for an Engineers Without Borders conference.
Big hug for Sarah and Chris before they have to leave.
Pretty flowers in the Sweitzers' yard.
The redbud (I think) tree, also in the Sweitzers' yard.
Another shipment arrives from L.I.S.A.!
Jenny and I went to the Moorpark High School graduation
to watch friends graduate, in particular, Kate Sweitzer,
seen here with parents Karl and Vickie.
The boys present Dad with homemade Father's Day cards.
And Jenny made him a pineapple upside-down cake from scratch.
