Dottie and Laura had had fun shopping at Victoria's Secrets for
gifts for Mother.
Trying on the new slippers.
Laura brought her wedding dress along to model for us.
The following day, Friday, we (Jenny, Cynthia, and me) decided to go joy-riding with
Mother. We discovered the Black Hill Regional Park north
of Germantown.
A groundhog noticed us parked by the visitor center.
There was a neat little pond and waterfall tucked in by the
entrance.
Mother treated us to lunch at Applebees.
Including sundaes.
Rev. Martha Brown popped in to chat with Mother.
On Saturday, we went to to Marion Beasley's 90th
birthday celebration. His wife had been the coordinator
for our wedding in 1978.
There were several old Foundry friends there, including
Mary Jane and Betsy Klipple, and Betty Jean Morgan.
Marion Beasley - the latest nonogenerian at Asbury, with his children, Keith and Karen, and Keith's wife.
Sunday Wendy came over and we enjoyed a traditional
Grandmother Norford-style roast beef dinner.
A squirrel takes a break on the deck railing.
Later in the week we enjoyed sitting out front in the sun.
Mother's small-scale rock garden.
I made a list of challenges/goals for Mother, one of which was
to walk around the block. To my surprise and delight, she
accomplished that goal within hours of it being written down!
