Snow

Alan put up the Christmas tree a couple days before Thanksgiving.

He made hats for the penguins and balanced them here.

First snow of the season - 11/27/09.

Dainty bird tracks showed up by the front door.

The dogwood glistened with ice.

Backyard visitor.

Alan made a penguin-shaped cake when he rediscovered the pan.

The finished result. Alan did all the decorating.

Roger brought home some of the leftover parts and made a marble roller coaster, just as they'd done at school as part of a unit on physics.

Bluejay under the front pine trees.

Alan made these cookies, and shared them at the first Dungeons & Dragons meeting on January 16th.

Our Dungeon Master Ray is doing a great job of leading the group: Savannah, Jackson, Robert, Roger, and Alan.

A foggy morning.

A squirrel zips around in the fog.

Roger takes his turn sitting with his group's presentation board at the 6th-grade Physics Fair.

Their group calculated the "Monkey and the Hunter" problem: can the hunter hit the monkey as it falls to the ground, simulated here with a stuffed monkey and a thrown tennis ball.

They researched the applicable equations and collected and processed data from a set of trials.

Alan wanted me to notice the icicles attaching the van to the driveway.

We lost power on February 9th and it didn't come back on until the next morning. The house got a bit chilly.

Glen and I checked out the Brecksville Nature Center and trail.

Local wildlife along the trail.
