The yellow jar started growing tiny crystals first.
They got bigger.
Green only grew a few crystals after Roger broke the
hard surface on the top. We think some evaporation needed to happen.
Red didn't grow any crystals until the top was broken.
Some final crystals before cleaning up the jars.
This project demonstrated a non-Newtonian fluid. 'Slime' is
strain-rate dependent in its behavior.
It's also fun to play with.
Then we put it in the freezer to see what would happen.
It broke my pyrex dish, so if we repeat this experiment, we will
be using recycled jelly jars or perhaps plastic margerine tubs.
