It's still a bit chilly.
Glen and Chris went for a hike along the towpath.
They saw the Bald Eagles' nest.
This cardinal posed right outside the window for me.
Happy Birthday, Roger!
Roger's big present: bow and arrows, and some safety stuff.
We took it down the hill to try out.
My 2-year-old orchid plant from Sarah is preparing to bloom again!
It last bloomed in CA and moved across country with us.
A bird smacked into the window and left some feathers and a smudge.
We think it survived: we couldn't find it lying on the ground.
Many of the kids in Mrs. Kinson's and Mrs. Stein's classes
got to go to McDonalds as a reward.
They basically took over the place. Fortunately, it was mid-afternoon
and not busy.
Glen tests the new solar charger.
Yes! It can power a light during the day when the sun is shining.
Oh yes, it can also tickle-charge a car or other battery so you can
drive or have light at night.
The boys helped Jackson Williams celebrate his birthday
at Lazer X-treme.
Sarah is 'The Frizz' for a class project as she works on a
teaching credential program.
Sarah and Chris sent roses for Mother's Day.
L.I.S.A. sent another large box of books.
Alan and Anne made pies for the ethnic heritage feast at school.
Alan did the stars and the pi vents. Since Alan's ethnic heritage
is pretty much American, we chose apple pie as our contribution.
Turkey could have been a good choice, too.
We lost Aunt Ruth McGreevy in early May at the age of 92. Her children
held a memorial get-together. Seen here, Marilla and Kathi.
Kathi lived with and took care of her grandmother.
Some of the cousins: Marilla, Glen, Laurie, Kevin, and Amy.
Tom and Dawn McGreevy.
The orchid bloomed again!

Roger spent an afternoon throwing his boomerang while I took
video clips for a how-to project for school.
We attended the Academic Recognition Ceremony at the Middle School.
Roger got an award for making honor roll all year.

Alan got one at his school, too.
A raccoon wandered through the yard one evening. Apparently
a family has taken up residence next door.
Central School had a very moving Memorial Day Assembly. They
included veterans as honored guests, a bagpipe player
played Amazing Grace, and two trumpeters played an echo version
of Taps.
Field Day at Central included sidewalk chalk.
Alan drew a flag.
Last day of school: Roger with his homeroom/LA teacher, Mrs. Witowitz.
Alan and Mrs. Kinson.
The traditional end-of-school-year book/paper burning in
Echo Hills.
Alan's ready with the hose!
Roger enjoyed volleyball.
Alan likes the volleyball court, too, but he prefers the sand instead
of the game.
