Kick-It

The Middle School held a fundraiser at the end of the school year to support pediatric cancer research. Kick-It is a local organization, started by a former BBHCSD student whose son contracted a form of cancer. Roger enjoyed donating some money for the privilege of taking a chance to dunk his teacher in the dunk tank. Sadly, I don't have a picture of his success: 4 out of 6 shots!

On the last day of school, the students all played kickball, a focal point of the Kick-It organization. Kickball is the favorite game of the child whose illness started all this, so fund-raising is centered on playing kickball.

I watched the kids for a little bit, in between volunteering to monitor traffic across the parking lot. Unfortunately, I missed seeing Roger score.

The Principal, Mr. Farrell, cooked hot dogs for the kids.

These are the kids in whose honor the school mobilized this fundraising effort.

The kids and staff together gathered $23,500 for Kick-It!

One of the teachers had challenged the kids to raise at least 20K, promising to have her head shaved if they succeeded.
