Christmas Eve

Extended Family Party

Sledding

Lisa gave us SmallWorld, a new game that quickly became one of Roger's favorites.

Sarah, Chris, and Glen wanted to try making a Reuben pizza after seeing one at the Westside Market.

Lisa created a very special Dungeons & Dragons game, based on the board game Labyrinth. The kids were invited to Save Christmas! Rudolph had been kidnapped and Santa wants him back.

There are fixed tiles, and moveable tiles. At the end of each round, the 'extra' tile is inserted at a point determined by rolling dice, the whole row shifts, and a new tile is ejected from the game until next round.

Sarah and Chris treated us all to lunch at Long Yun's Mongolian BBQ and buffet.

Some of us (and it wasn't Roger and Alan!) enjoyed being silly and played Candyland and Chutes & Ladders.

Steven and Megan got in on the snowman building after an afternoon of sledding.

Snowman several days later...

After sledding, the extended family came over for a buffet dinner.

After-dinner entertainment -- a medieval tournament on the Wii.

Lisa and Alan make a peanut butter cheesecake.

They crushed oreo cookies for the crust.

Alan also made a cake with strawberry filling and raspberries on top.

Lisa made a gourmet dinner for all of us.

Glen and Anne joined the D&D game to save Christmas. A new labor agreement was negotiated and they all lived happily ever after. If it had been solely up to the kids, there would probably have been more mayhem.

We played a lot of Tripoley this year.

Jenny and I hiked down to the creek.

The deer had clearly been by.

Traditional New Year's Eve puzzle.

Jenny checks in with the grandparents before heading to the airport.

christmas is over -- Lisa's heading home and the boys are back in school.

Code for putting the tree together.
