Christmas

Snow

Jerry came for a visit at the beginning of December.

The brothers took a hike down the creek to see the waterfall.

Alan put up the Christmas tree, complete with Christmas Bunny.

Aunt Laurie invited the ladies to go to brunch in Chagrin Falls.

Chagrin Falls is aptly named and beautifully decorated for Christmas.

We got to tour the library branch where Laurie works. Jenny, Steph, Jen, and Sarah pause for a picture.

We played a lot of Tripoley this year.

Alan decided to make some Christmas gifts.

Alan created a knight for a medieval scene he was creating.

This was for a project at school. Look for the Black Knight and William Tell easter eggs. The main point was the representation of a medieval tournament.

Alan got a cake on his actual birthday.

Then, at Alan's request, we did cheesecake for the party with relatives.

It was a big Lego day, including the medieval village set with 1601 pieces.

This pair of cardinals posed outside the window.

Junkos?

Uncle Roger made a quick trip to Brecksville at the end of February. We stayed up late playing on the Wii.

Rain and melting snow overflowed the Cuyahoga River, at least at the low point of Vaughn Rd.

I took my pictures from where the road was closed, right at the Jaite dirt parking lot on the east side of the tracks.

Riverview just north of Vaughn was also closed, as expected. That low point floods frequently. Roger's bus doesn't pick up the kid on Riverview on those days and Roger gets to school a bit earlier. This time, though, they also had up 'road closed' signs on Riverview just south of Snowville. Basically, Snowville was a dead end -- all you could get to was the park headquarters buildings.

The creek behind the house was pretty full.
