Thanksgiving

Grandma celebrated her 84th birthday with us in September.

I started an herb garden near the front door.

Fruit trees in the front yard.

More fruit trees.

The barlett pear tree actually produced one this year. In general, though, it was probably too wet for a proper crop. That tree is located in a section of yard that never really dried out; it remained soft and muddy for months.

Rhubarb! We actually harvested some and enjoyed it.

Alan likes making ice cream periodically.

He found a snake in the grass while rolling the ball around.

Eyeball-to-eyeball!

In early October, Glen took out the dock at the cottage for the winter.

Roger helped haul the dock to storage.

A heron flew in to the nearby point.

Nice fall color on Sentinel Dr.

Our own backyard.

Frost on the ghosts in the front yard.

Couldn't resist bringing this unique pumpkin home.

Grandpa celebrates turning 84 in November.

Snow!

This red bush is under our pines in front.

Alan's grades earned him a Merit Award for his 1st quarter at the Middle School.

More fall color, right across the street.

Portal was well-received -- thank you, Lisa!

I started a PSO-sponsored Board Game Club at the Middle School. At our first meeting, we had several sets of Risk being played simultaneously.

Alan gets a head start on the Christmas (excuse me - PINE) tree. It wouldn't be a Christmas tree until after Thanksgiving. The Christmas Bunny was sitting on the stairs watching.

Uncle Roger and Aunt Carol made a quick trip to Ohio for a friend's wedding. Naturally, there had to be a family gettogether, too. Amusingly, Glen was already in Florida for his Thanksgiving vacation, hanging out with Uncle Jerry, borrowing Uncle Roger's car, and tailgating at a football game with Uncle Roger's kids.

A bit of snow at the end of November.
