Driving home on the Sunday after Thanksgiving. Traffic was thick, as expected. This is
I-70 west of Frederick, MD. A fender-bender had just happened up ahead.
We decided to avoid Breezewood and head west to Cumberland instead. This is from the
rest area at Sideling Hill.
They have a visitor center (closed this day) and walkways (open) so we could better view the
geologic layers revealed by the road cut.

There's a pedestrian bridge over the freeway that connects north- and south-bound rest areas.

Continuing west, we passed through Frostburg.
Watch out!
Eastern Continental Divide.
Just for fun, we took Rt. 30 NW from I-70 towards Pittsburgh.
Fun road, especially in the pouring rain.
They're really serious about the hazards of this road. It was an exciting and scenic drive,
definitely more fun than spending an hour inching through Breezewood would have been.
