I rode up with John, Molly, and Daniel Sunday morning to UCSB.
Just as we got there, it started raining.
We got there in very good time so we could claim nice seats.
And then Jenny called to see if John could pick her and David up
from their apartment so they wouldn't have to walk in the rain.
Dean Bruce Tiffney donned a wizard hat for the occasion.
Jenny was seated in the second row, just a few people away from
David, alphabetically.
The auditorium filled.
The class numbered just 98 graduates.
David's name is read by Dean Tiffney.
He receives his congratulatory certificate from
Chancellor Yang. Diplomas are mailed later.
Jenny's turn to 'walk'.
It was still pouring after the ceremony. Thank goodness the
event had been planned for inside Campbell Hall.
After the ceremony, David's family hosted a celebratory
luncheon at Eladio's in Santa Barbara.
David's mom is from the LA area, so his family was well represented.
The food was so good!
Jenny was taken by surprise by all
the cards.
