Lisa treated us to a visit to the museum and lunch in the cafe.

Roger had just done a project for school on the Viking probe to Mars,
so it was neat to see this.
They had a lot of interesting rocks and minerals, including some
fossils from Iowa.

Alan obligingly provided scale in this picture of very large crystals.
There are actual fossils in this display, not just well-done replicas.

I was excited to see Lucy, the early hominid, especially since I've
read several books on her discovery.
There was an outdoor rehabilitation mini-zoo, complete with foxes!
Playful otters.
Music from birdcalls.
So those little yellow flowers in the backyard are Trout Lilies.
