The beach at the 'anchor house' was very swimmable.

The water was clear and it wasn't hard to float over the
water plant band to get to weed-free swimming.
I wanted to try swimming between this beach and the dock by our house,
about a 1/2 mile.
Around halfway between the two houses. Glen was taking the rowboat
back to its home dock, so he spotted me for the swim. With all the
boat traffic, a spotter was a necessity. Unfortunately, one of the oars
broke, so he completed the trip by paddling with the other one.
It was a slow way to go, but so is my swimming pace, so that
was okay, just bothersome. Yes, I completed the whole distance in something
around 45-50 minutes.
Several of us decided to do another lake swim late in the week.
We called it a swim flotilla: use whatever flotation device you wanted.
The participants were Anne, David, Joe, Roger, and Alan.
We couldn't have done it without our trusty spotters: Lisa, Jenny, and Glen.
Jenny took the canoe.

Lisa used a kayak.
Glen chose the other kayak.
Alan got a bit of a tow from Jenny.
We swam across the wide inlet to the north of the beach, and then
turned around and went back. The total distance was just under 1/2 mile.
Roger got pretty chilled, but he did the whole thing.
