The creek behind our house was pretty dry in July.
We hiked downstream, noting changes since last summer. This is the ford/small waterfall.
More slabs are eroding from the banks.
We even spotted a fish!
A bend in the creek as it meanders through the canyon.
There was a mysterious black substance that had flowed into the creek here.
It wasn't oil since it wasn't floating.

The biggest surprise, though, was the shape of the 20' waterfall.
A large chunk had fallen from the lip. You can compare the current configuration
to this previous picture from 5-16-2010.
And then we got rain, lots of rain, on July 19th.
August 14th - more water rushes through our little creek.
Several days later we checked it out. The pond right below our house
had been reshaped.
Here's another view, looking downstream.
