We decided to hike around Ledges in the National Park. Sarah had flown in several
days before the Cooper Family Reunion.
Sarah spotted this katydid by the trail.
We did the hike, starting with the stairs instead of ending with them as we've
done in the past.
Alan found some Fall leaves, despite this being early August.
We'd brought flashlights to explore Ice-Box Cave.
Glen made it the farthest back.
End of this branch. The cave divides, but we didn't follow the other path (this time)
since we would have had to wade in the water. Maybe next time we'll bring boots,
in addition to flashlights.
Note the reflection on the little stream of water on the floor of the cave.
Odd sight -- tree top dangling down. Maybe it was a lightning victim?
We took the long way back to the parking lot, and discovered this bridge.
Glen is always impressed with the expanse of this field next to the parking lot
and the shelter house.
