Hubbell Family Reunion

On Monday, before heading to the airport, Mother and I toured Beehive House, Brigham Young's house which did double-duty as the Governor's Mansion in the 1800's.

The study.

Wedding dress worn by Brigham Young's daughter.

Brigham Young was a carpenter by trade. This is his toolchest and in the early days of settling Utah he used these tools.

Note the bees in this woodwork that decorated one of the doorways.

Music room.

School room.

Toys.

Mother remembered having a doll like this one.

Sewing machine. Grandmother Norford had a similar model.

Dining room for the hired help.

Kitchen. Oddly enough, it was in the house. Initially, it had been outdoors, but was incorporated into the building when the addition was put on in the 1880's.

Formal dining room.
