Hubbell Family Reunion

On Sunday, Eric volunteered to drive Aunt Marge, Mother, and me to Logan to see Jim and Mary Ann's home, plus have more opportunity to visit with them.

It's about 1.5 hours north of Salt Lake City.

Coming into Cache Valley.

Their home dates back to the late 1800's.

Aunt Marge treated us all to lunch at the Golden Corral. Eric came along, and so did Spencer.

After lunch, we did a driving tour of the area, including parts of the University campus where Jim got his degree in Urban Forestry.

This is the oldest building on the campus.

We drove east into the Cache National Forest.

There was still snow in these mountains.

We stopped at one of the small dams.

The picnic area was flooded.

Back at the house, we got a tour of the yard. They have more satellite dishes on the roof than people who live in the house!

This is Jim's Robert Hubbell Memorial Tree, in honor of his father.

Jim's orchard. He has a variety of apples and assorted other trees.

Mary Ann's chickens.

The lawn... Jim hadn't had a chance to mow it in quite awhile, due to other commitments, like organizing the family reunion.

The barn was laid low by an excess of snow several years ago.

The 'Black Forest'.

One of their major activities is organizing the Farmer's Market.

Alan really enjoyed this tree and its platform when we visited in 2006.

Backyard.

The road back to SLC.

At Aunt Marge's suggestion, Eric took a small detour to show us Katy's house. She wasn't home, though, so we only saw the outside.
