Thanksgiving

We drove to Gaithersburg to spend Thanksgiving weekend with Mother and Wendy's family.

Let the exuberance begin!

Wendy, Glen

Steve looking great!

I brought herbs from my garden for cooking -- Steve checks out the 'weed'.

Mother says it's good stuff.

Vanessa and Roger had to climb the tree.

The lighting was excellent, so Mother let me take this picture.

Roger shows off doing pullups.

Alan had brought along his dragon puzzle.

On Friday we hiked around the Asbury pond.

The kids tried out some of the exercise stations.

A big blue heron had stopped by.

Ubiquitous geese.

Back at the villa, we switched from Thanksgiving to Christmas.

Vanessa models her Christmas earrings.

Glen and I acquired a new set of shelves from Costco and Glen put them together. Mother is storing more seasonal things in the garage now, since it's more accessible than the attic.

We left on Saturday to beat both the traffic and the predicted snow.

We had to finish the puzzle before we could leave, though.

Traffic was already heavy heading out on 270.

Frederick.

Hagerstown.

As we neared Breezewood, we started seeing snow.

A snowplow was manned and ready by the side of the turnpike.

The tunnel west of Breezewood.

The west side of the tunnel.

Western PA turnpike.

And snow at home. Nice to complete the trip before it got any deeper.
