Cottage

Glen pounds the dock-support pipe into the lake bottom.

Dock!

Mom made a great birthday meal for Glen (and us).

Relaxing.

The boys tried using a magnifying glass to start a fire. They managed to sear a few sticks. A more powerful magnifying glass would have been helpful.

'Sunday' calm -- so-called because typically, beautiful surface conditions for waterskiing would appear, just as everyone had to leave Sunday evening. This is the view looking back from the bridge towards the shoreline for the cottage.

The Cottage at the end of August, after Jerry had spent several weeks there doing projects. One of his projects was replacing the block walkway with a concrete sidewalk.

The extra concrete was used by the dock.

Uncle Roger painted the gutters.

Glen replaced the leaking faucet in the bathroom.

Inside of the garage - just in case you're feeling nostalgic.

East Harbor State Beach. The water level was definitely down. But we had fun bobbing in the waves anyway.

We returned to the Cottage in mid-September to take out the dock for the winter.

The water was very low, making access to the dock supports much easier.

I'm intrigued at the success of this little tree in cracking the rock.

Roger and Glen got the dock out onto the grass pretty quickly.

Mom got roasted chickens and other good stuff for a mid-day dinner.

Glen pried the pipe supports levering against the pipewrench that Roger held in place.

Alan spotted wildlife on the purple flowers.

Glen and I went for a slow stroll down the pier in Port Clinton.

We watched the Jet Express ferry to the islands coming in.

The Davis-Besse nuclear power plant to the west.
