Des Moines

Last Day of Vacation

The Hubbell Reunion had wrapped up the day before. We spent this last day of our vacation playing.

We started at Sleepy Hollow, a play center with a variety of activities.

First stop: race cars

Next: batter up! at the batting cage

Moving on to the boats...

And finally... mini-golf.

Heading back through town, we spotted the famous cows. From AEDairy.com:
"Annie the cow and Eric her calf are the much loved "icons" that act as greeters in front of the AE Dairy plant in Des Moines.

At 14' tall and 2500 pounds of fiberglass, Annie has graced the intersection of Hubbell and University since 1966. Her 5'7" calf Eric has been by her side since 1977."

Red Rossa Pizza for lunch.

They cook it while you watch.

Back to the hotel, and its beautiful Dawn Redwoods.

Dinner was sandwiches at Arby's, followed by fruit at Lisa's.

Then we drove just north of town to the lake to view the sunset.
