View from our 7th-floor hotel room at the Embassy Suites in Milpitas.

We enjoyed having dinner at the Black Bear Diner with Oscar and Gladys.

Sarah and Chris's apartment in San Jose.

Their clever bike storage, just inside the door.

Sarah and Chris took us to Amici's for lunch to celebrate Father's Day.

Then we hiked around downtown San Jose.

Curiously-themed park in San Jose.

This juxtaposition of signs amused us.

crossing the Guadalupe River that runs through San Jose.

St. Joseph Cathedral.

Time for R&R back at the Leons' home.

Hard at work on table assignments for the wedding reception.

Rosa, Sarah's close friend, has this framed crossword puzzle. It is the last one her father did before he died. What a special memento.

Cell tower disguised as a tree.

Bowling with Sarah and Chris one evening.

The wedding is getting closer -- we picked up Grandmother from Oakland Airport and treated ourselves to ice cream on the way back to the hotel.

Lisa's here, and sporting a look rather similar to Roger's.

Another dinner at the Black Bear Diner - we liked it.

Jenny & David had arrived by Wednesday evening.

They introduced us to Fluxx.

Happy Birthday, David! You get 2 pounds of random dice.

Atrium at the hotel.

There was a very tempting frozen yogurt place right across the street from the hotel.

Lisa and Vanessa enjoyed having the bartender make them creative non-alcoholic beverages at the complementary evening wine receptions at the hotel.

We managed to enjoy the pool a few times.

Breakfast at the hotel was usually a social event.

Kelsey was egged on by her cousins to cut Roger's hair Sunday evening.

She does wonderful work.

More Fluxx

Mother and I 'help' David.

The McGreevys stayed over for Monday, so we toured the Tech Museum in San Jose with them.

Vanessa does a DNA lab, carefully following posted instructions.

Alan and Roger both experimented with different designs for the wind turbine.

Quick snack before they had to head for the airport.

Wendy, Anne, Shelton, and Mother.

Tuesday we (Wendy, Vanessa, Mother, Jenny, David, Glen, Roger, and me) went to see Redwoods at Henry Cowell State Park, and then the Natural Bridges State Beach. For lunch, we found this Taqueria in Felton. Lisa and Alan did a separate trip to Japantown and the Art Museum.

More Fluxx -- we were hooked.

May the Forest be with You -- what a great T-shirt.

Wednesday: time for Grandmother, Wendy, and Vanessa to head home.

Lisa got this lobster for her friend Vickie, who collects such things. She was heading south to visit with friends and then attend Anime Expo in Los Angeles.

Heading north to Alameda, we noticed a couple of curious signs. Most of them allowed buses, but these were for the more romantically-inclined.

Bowling with Jenny and David.

Heading home Saturday, June 28th. We took off at 6:30am from SFO.
