We (Freys, Blatniks, Coopers) gathered on Dec 27th at Sentinel.
For dinner, each family contingent brought a version of chili, so we had 3 kinds to sample.
We finally got to meet Megan's boyfriend Ryan.
After dinner, we had a gift opening. Roger had thought we might select Secret Santa gifts
from the basement. Beth and Laurie ran with the idea as a way of making sure everyone got
a keepsake from their grandparents, including the family not able to be in town this year.
Alan was very pleased to be entrusted with the Cooper Coat of Arms.
This was a chance to be nostalgic and revisit the house before we totally clean it out
and put it on the market. Dad's PE certificate is hanging on the wall upstairs, along with
several other awards. He had quite a career as a structural engineer and technical salesman.
Then on the 28th the whole group gathered at the Blatniks' home for a more formal
Christmas dinner.
Beth and Laurie made the traditional menu with a beef tenderloin roast, the special creamy potatoes,
red and green jello salads, etc. We brought dessert including Alan's homemade chocolate raspberry cheesecake.
Nayla brought the moose over to GreatGrandmother to show her.
Watch the video of her dancing with it.
The Blatniks contingent: Jen & Joe & Gianna, Laurie & Rudy, Steph & Jason
the whole party.
