Thanksgiving

We traveled to Gaithersburg to have Thanksgiving with Anne's mother and her sister's family. This year Jenny and David would also join us, driving in from New Jersey.

Due to school schedules, we did the drive Wednesday morning, instead of Tuesday afternoon. First stop: gas at Costco. How will we survive these long lines!

Weather was a bit dicey and chilly.

Made it in plenty of time to get settled in at Mother's villa, and then go over to the Carballos' home for dinner.

As is now traditional, pizza Wednesday night.

followed by some Apples-to-Apples.

Tatting, of course.

Jenny and David arrived late after toughing out the drive down I-95 the day before Thanksgiving. They would be staying with the Carballos.

10 of us for the feast this year!

Quite a dessert spread: brownies by Jenny, coconut custard and crustless pecan pie cups by Wendy, pumpkin pie supplied by Mother, berry pie by Jenny, fruit pie by Vanessa, doughnuts from Roger.

The John Howard Hubbell Memorial Dessert.

Mother's solar light-up turtles. We'd given them to her for her birthday.

Friday it was time to switch gears and celebrate Christmas. Alan helped reach the hooks for some of the decorations.

The puzzlers.

Celebrating Anne's birthday a bit early.

It was fun having Jenny and David with us this year.
