April 10th, a hike on the towpath north from Peninsula.

These birds showed a flash of blue as they darted around.

another snake! This one is a Watersnake, probably a Northern Watersnake (they're more common), but it closely resembles a Lake Erie Watersnake.

April 27th: hike south on the towpath from Boston Mill. The trail goes under both 271 and the turnpike.

Cuyahoga River on the west side of the towpath, and the old Ohio & Erie Canal on the east.

May 28th: Hike south on towpath from Szalay's Market to Beaver Marsh. Lots of wildflowers in the canal.
