Lisa took us here on Wednesday, June 14th. Living up to its name, there
were a lot of different things to discover.
This is the largest fig tree I've ever seen. It was in the
Biblical Garden area.
The nursery section had many, many varieties of iris.
Yes, we spotted a bit of wildlife.
California poppies grow as weeds.
Apparently you can use this section for private events such as a wedding.
Alan found things to photograph, too.
Bougainvilla is always vivid.
Surprise! random dinosaurs.
There's also an indoor museum. Some of the displays seemed like they might
have been private collections originally.
Pinecones!
Not sure whether this signage is out of date. Interesting discussion of the
possibility of another ice age, and no mention of global warming.
Large collection of dinosaur egg fossils.
Neat display of 100-year-old mining paraphenalia.
And then there were large live tortoises outside the gift shop.
and a dinosaur skeleton at the entrance to the gift shop. Not pictured
is the outdoor spread of raw rocks available for purchase.
