Eclipse

On August 21st, there was a solar eclipse. Totality cut a wide swath diagonally across the United States, from Washington State to Georgia. Here in Ohio we got a partial eclipse, which was fun, but not quite the big spectacular show totality is reported to be. We'd hoped to travel to a good viewing area, but work, traffic, and coinciding exactly with the 1st day of school convinced us to wait until the next one. Lucky for us, it's only 7 years away and we won't have to go anywhere - our house is in the totality zone!

Glen set up his camera with Dad's large lens and his custom-made filter.

sunspots were clearly visible.

my little camera didn't do too shabbily. I held the special filter glasses across the lens.

Alan took this with his phone.
